What We Are

The Coalition is a growing collaboration of more than 40 social service agencies, faith based organizations, and community leaders dedicated to supporting healthy marriages and healthy families in our community. We offer monthly marriage education workshops so that those who choose marriage for themselves have the tools needed to make the marriage successful.  Coalition members provide an array of supportive services to Tarrant area families- child development, parenting, financial classes, and health education.

The Healthy Marriage- Healthy Families Coalition of Tarrant County meets  regularly to network, learn about services and programs available, and seek ways to better meet the needs of families in Tarrant County.  Recognizing that Tarrant County has a diverse population, the coalition has an African-American Marriage Initiative Committee and a Hispanic Marriage Initiative Committee to insure that the cultural needs specific to these populations are adequately addressed.

What We Aren't

The coalition is not about coercing anyone to marry into or remain in an unhealthy relationship.  We do not wish to stigmatize those who choose divorce, nor do we wish to limit access to divorce.  We do not seek to diminish, either directly or indirectly, the important work of single parents.

Want To Join Us?

Coalition meetings are held the first Thursday of each month at 9:00 a.m.

Membership is open to individuals and organizations who share the mission and vision of the coalition.  Members include churches, non-profit agencies, government offices and community organizations. There is no cost to join the Coalition.

"They say it takes a        village to raise a child. That may be the case, but the truth is that it takes a lot of solid, stable marriages to

create a village."

- Diane Sollee, Smartmarriages.com

A great marriage is not when the 'perfect couple' comes together. It is when an imperfect couple learns to enjoy their differences"

- Dave Meurer

All those "and they lived happily ever after" fairy tale endings need to be

changed to "and they began the very hard work of making their marriages happy."

- Linda Miles

"People are often enamored with my Super Bowl ring. But it's my wedding ring that I'm most proud of. And having a good marriage takes even more work than winning a Super Bowl" - Trent Dilfer, winning Quarterback of Super Bowl XXXV
